Purchasing a Document
The 401kPortal® allows individual users to purchase qualified plan documents on
a "one-at-a-time" basis. Thus, for example, a law firm can secure a qualified
401(k) plan volume submitter document for a client without becoming an
"institutional" client of McKay Hochman.
Here's how that process works:
-
The user establishes itself as a "provider". You must be a provider before you
can create an employer/sponsor record. This step is where you establish your
user name, password, and method of payment. While we will validate your credit
card information at this point, no charge is incurred until you output a plan
document.
- Once
you have set up your provider account, we recommend that you review the
numerous options available under the "Help" option before attempting to set up
a plan. Read the manual, watch the presentations, and review the other Help
documents.
-
As a provider, you can set up as many employer/sponsors as you wish. You must
first set up an employer/sponsor before you can create a plan for that
employer/sponsor. Once you have set up an employer/sponsor, you can
create a plan for that sponsor. See the online manual for details.
- After
you have completed the data collection process, you can produce a plan document
for the employer/sponsor by selecting the Output option. Note: When you output
a plan document, we will charge your credit card for the appropriate amount.
Note further that you will only be charged once for that document. Thus, you
can review the document with the employer/sponsor and return to the system to
make changes and create a revised document for that sponsor without incurring
an additional charge.
